Windows 7 OS - Security Advisory
Monday, January 27, 2020
You have three months to act and ensure the integrity of your Windows 7 computer and consequently your network.
On 14th January 2020, Microsoft is ending support of the Windows 7 operating system. This means that security, patches and upgrades to Windows 7 will cease to be distributed to your computer and Microsoft won't provide technical support. Although your Windows 7 computer will still function post-January, it will be more vulnerable to security risks and viruses and you should seriously consider upgrading to Windows 10 operating system.
After this date, hackers will have free reign to exploit vulnerable systems and wreak havoc, meaning that any Windows 7 computer on a network will be a security risk to the whole of the network and there will be no software releases from Microsoft to prevent the attacks.
If you have any questions regarding the compatibility of your current systems with Windows 10 or wish to discuss options or costs to upgrade please get in touch.
